Like Clarke, Boys’ Under-18 winner, Silva, also struggled down the stretch, recording a final round 77 to drop into share of first place alongside fellow Chilean, Juan Cerda on two under par 214 but he recovered his composure in time to claim victory in the subsequent sudden-death play-off. In a keenly contested competition, Brazil’s Luigi Pedrinola was third after posting rounds of 78, 69 and 68 for a one under par 54-hole aggregate of 215, while another Brazilian, Gustavo Chang, finished on level par 216 after rounds of 71, 73 and 72.

In the Boys’ Under-16 age group category Pombo improved each day to record rounds of 74, 72 and 71 and finish four shots ahead of Chile’s Martin Andres Cancino Avara on one over par 217 while in the Girls’ Under-21 age group, Ana Paula Costa opened with a fine 69 on her way to claiming a three shot victory over compatriot, Daniela Murray on four over par 220.

Paraguay’s Vaccaro posted rounds of 78, 76 and 78, to claim a four shot victory over compatriot, Milagros Chaves, in the Girls’ Under-16 competition. First round leader, Julia Shin from Brazil, claimed third place with rounds of 75, 81 and 82.
