A golfer in California started a wildfire while trying to hit a ball out of the rough.
Fire officials in the west-coast state claim the golfer’s club hit a rock, sparking a fire which destroyed 12 acres of densely wooded area by the Shady Canyon Golf Club in Irvine.
In a part of the world which suffers a lot of wildfires, this is certainly one of the strangest.
“Personally, I've never responded to that call before,” Orange County Fire Authority captain Greg McKeown told the BBC.
Around 150 firemen responded to the blaze, and police say the golfer, whose name has been withheld, will not face charges.
