On Saturday in the Kronenbourg 1664 Chart Hills Classic (Biddenden, Kent), New Zealand rookie Gina Scott won her first professional title, beating Italian Isabella Maconi in the second hole of the play-off.

Scott equalled her best ever round (seven under par) to finish nine under. She played an eagle, six birdies and one bogey. Overnight leader Maconi played to par to finish level with Scott. On the first extra hole, both players parred the 18th, but second time around, Maconi hit into a greenside bunker and played a double bogey, while Scott played another par to win the contest.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have won it and it's a great way to finish off my first season in Europe."

A disappointed Davies
Laura Davies finished at seven under, in joint fourth position - she now only has one chance left for a European win this year (in the Netherlands) to continue her amazing record of at least one win in Europe every year for the past 15.
