Look out for some new, cool shoes from Nike, when Tiger Woods steps out in the US PGA Championship at Medinah tomorrow.
The World No.1 will be wearing the latest SP-8 TW Tour shoes in black or white, which features ‘power platform’ technology, aimed at improving a golfer’s balance, smooth weight transfer and helping deliver ‘a stronger push through the impact zone.’
The shoes, which will cost £140 a pair and will be available in the UK and Europe from December.
Woods tested several prototypes before settling on the ones that gave him a combination of ‘Total traction,’ stability and comfort through the ‘power channel.’
The new Nike footwear – other models will be launched early in 2007 – features Champ Q-Lock Scorpion spikes, a full-length Poron sockliner and a low profile caged Air-Sole unit. Sizes range from 7-13 (half sizes from 8-11).
