Lee Westwood has signed a $5m deal with Ping clubs yesterday and may even now choose to replace the set that he has played with for over 13 years.
|Westwood might get a new set of clubs if he asks nicely!|
The Ping’s that he has used to win 24 times and 6 tournaments this year may be replaced next season to a nice shiny new set aftre thirteen years in his bag, according to his manager Chubby Chandler.
"These Ping clubs have been with him ever since. He has played with them all round the world," said Chandler.
"I don't think he went to bed with the clubs like some kids with new soccer boots, but they were and are his pride and joy.''
Meanwhile, Westwood is out to win the order of Merit race at this weeks $5m American Express Championship and hoping that he can beat Tiger Woods for the second time this year. But he has tough opposition form Darren Clarke and with Colin Montgomerie ahead of him after two rounds, the race will go down to the wire, perhaps even the last putt of the week!
