Paige Spiranac is loving life after tipping Cameron Smith to win The Open

Despite many of her followers telling her she knows nothing about golf, Paige Spiranac successfully tipped up Cameron Smith to win the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.

In fact, she also tipped up Matt Fitzpatrick to win the previous major championship at the US Open, so it's back-to-back winning selections for Paige.

Spiranac, who as well as being a golf social media sensation with more than 3 million Instagram followers works as a Points Bet USA ambassador, took to Twitter to reveal her delight at another win.

Smith was an outside 33/1 shot at the start of the week, the same price available for Fitzpatrick in the US Open.

A £1 double on those two outcomes would have returned £1,156.

"Congrats to Cam Smith for a historic win. And congrats to myself for picking him to win," tweeted Spiranac to her 620,000 followers.

"Damn! Picking Smith AND Fitz in majors this year. I know whose selections I’m checking next year going into majors. If I lose all my dough, I’m blaming you. Deal?" replied one of Spiranac's followers.

Here's proof of Spiranac tipping up both Fitzpatrick for the US Open and Smith for The Open:

Smith fired a spectacular 8-under 64 in the final round to spoil Rory McIlroy's party and etch his name on the Claret Jug for the first time in his career.

Cameron Young eagled the last to finish one shot back in second, while McIlroy could only manage a 2-under 70 en route to a solo third place.
