Memorable Pebble Beach moments as the PGA Tour returns to the iconic venue

Pebble Beach is one of the most iconic venues in the history of golf and many believe it is the greatest golf course in the world. Over the years we have been treated to some memorable moments and with the PGA Tour returning this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, we thought we would remind our readers of a few.

We'll kick things off with the man everyone was talking about last week in Jordan Spieth.

The three-time major winner played some of the best golf we have seen from him in years during the third round at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and although he has won at Pebble Beach before, his most talked about moment at the venue is not one he will look back on fondly.

SPIETH CALLS OUT HIS CADDIE DURING 2019 US OPEN

The 2019 US Open was held at Pebble Beach, where Gary Woodland went on to win his maiden major title, beating two-time US Open champion Brooks Koepka by three shots.

Spieth made the headlines during the opening round in 2019 when his approach shot at the par-4 8th flew the green and disappeared in the thick rough. With a camera and microphone right in front of him, Spieth blamed his caddie for his nightmare hole, which he was slammed for on social media.

The next memorable moment we are throwing it back to is a more joyful one, which highlights the magic of the tournament that usually sees the best players in the world team up with global celebrities.

Unfortunately, due to Covid restictions, the Pro-Am part of this year's event won't be happening, so let's remind ourselves of one of the best moments we have seen from a celebrity.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE SHINES AT PEBBLE BEACH

Global pop sensation Justin Timberlake isn't just a hit in the charts, but he's also quite the golfer and loves taking part at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

In 2017, Timberlake played alongside Englishman Justin Rose and it was the singer who was the star of the highlight reel for the day's action.

At the par-3 7th hole, Timberlake was taking his shot whilst Rose took a selfie and Timberlake's ball was almost slam-dunked into the hole, before spinning back to leave a tap-in birdie.

Timberlake wasn't finished there though, as he holed out from off the green not once, but twice and he certainly made the most of his celebrations.

Our next memorable moment is all about Phil Mickelson, a man who absolutely loves this venue, having won here multiple times and most recently at the 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

PHIL MICKELSON'S BEST BUNKER SHOTS OF HIS CAREER

There's something about Pebble Beach that brings the very best out of Lefty and the golf icon has produced a few moments there that will live with him forever.

Mickelson's short game is possibly the greatest of any golfer to ever grace the sport and he believes that his two greatest bunker shots of all time were both at Pebble Beach.

One being in last year's tournament where his plugged lie looked almost impossible to get a good result from and the other in 2006, where he holed out from an even worse position.

Last but not least, our final memorable moment is about another celebrity who absolutely loves this event and has provided plenty of memorable moments that spectators will never forget.

BILL MURRAY'S LOVE AFFAIR WITH PEBBLE BEACH

Actor Bill Murray has been playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for years and always does his best to make sure the crowd leaves the iconic venue with memories that will last a life time.

Although this year's event will be denied of the magic of the passionate spectators and the golf-loving celebrities, we're hopeful that the talented field will still provide golf fans with some more memorable moments that are talked about for years to come.
