Ping's is launching its G15 and i15 range of hybrids this month together with G15 and i15 drivers, irons and fairway metals. is among the first to get their hands on them so here are our first impressions:

Ping G15 hybrids
Specifications:Traditional hybrid shape and size, with high MOI, Tour-preferred (TP) penetrating trajectory. Stronger lofts contribute to lower spin rates for additional control. Hosel adjustable plus/minus two to further customize the hybrid. Three lofts (17, 20 and 23 degrees) and available in PING-designed AWT steel (SR, R, S and X), TFC700H (R, S and X) and UST Mamiya AXIVcore Tour Red 85 (R, S and X) shaf.
Price:£140 (steel), £155 (graphite)

Ping i15 hybrid made to produce a trajectory the Tour pros prefer

The Ping G15 hybrid, says the makers, is engineered as a high-launching, forgiving alternative to long and mid irons. They add that it's forgiving and longest hybrid ever.

Looks: Very much for the better player with a more compact head than the Ping G15 hybrid. Clean and simple looks the pros prefer.

Feel/performance: With having no offset, there is plenty of flexibility to create shots and work the ball even from a variety of lies. The ball flight reflects the target market and although hard hitters will achieve a reasonably high arc, the flight is certainly more penetrating than the Ping G15 hybrid. A heavier standard shaft and a low-launching premium option underlines the target market for a club that will perform superbly in the hands of a skilled player
