Apart from the out of bounds on the left, most golfers will be thankful for the moment's restpite after walking off the potentially treacherous 11th.
The 12th is steeply uphill but even with a 5- to 7-iron off the tee, you'll be leaving yourself a short iron or wedge in to attack the flag.
I used a 5-iron leaving myself with a sand wedge in. Be careful to use a club more, due to the gradient, so you don't get plugged in the large bunker ten yards short of the green.
Coming back here after five years was a real pleasure. I received a friendly welcome and with perfectly manicured fairways and a slight breeze on the day it proved an enjoyable challenge.
Biggest plus were the immaculate greens. They were championship standard five years ago and nothing has changed. The true roll really allows you to go after your putts.
