Par 3 154 yards 6th (15th)

Like many golfers who appreciate their surroundings as much as the number on the scorecard have a real affinity to stunning par-3s and the 6th here is one of the more charming I’ve played (see image left), but can it sting like a bee.

Looking over a classic countryside pond to a maintained green, it is guarded by two imposing bunkers and delivers the beauty and a serious test to any golfer.

If the pin is back-right over the largest greenside trap, aim for the middle of the green and trust your stroke to make two putt from 30-feet. You might even sink one for a birdie.

The wind can swirl on this relatively opencourse so watch out when you’re aiming to clear the pond and avoiding the bunkers either side.
