Portmarnock GC

Portmarnock Golf Club, Ireland – Par 4, 417 yards

Voted by Golf Digest Ireland as the country’s No.1 course, the old links at Portmarnock have played host to some of the greatest tournaments in golf.

The course presents a test right from the opening hole; a demanding par 4 where the howling wind from the estuary to the right makes for a difficult first tee shot.

While there is plenty of room up the left, you don’t want to get swallowed up by one of the three bunkers guarding that side of the fairway. The second shot is equally challenging, with a 41-yard-long green requiring an accurate yardage assessment.
