Europe’s largest golf travel company (www.golfbreaks.com), is launching a series of four-day Pro-Am events using PGA professionals, each with a £10,000 prize fund.
From January to April, the events will be held in Spain and Portugal, culminating with one at the LaCala Resort in Spain from March 31- April 3. With each event the plays and stays for free subject to generating three amateurs paying the appropriate fees to join them on their team.
Prices per amateur are based on two sharing and includes three nights’ B&B and three rounds of tournament golf, welcome dinner and awards lunch. Flights not included, additional nights stay from£35 per person/per night.
Jim Long, director of PGA Relations at Golfbreaks.com, says: “Having listened to the market, and in order to suit today’s busy professional and amateur golfer, we are introducing a shorter four day/three round Pro-Am format. This means less time away from work and a lower pro-am price point, while keeping prize money at a very attractive level.”?
