Rory McIlroy takes a loss on selling his Florida home

Rory McIlroy has sold his Palm Beach Gardens mansion for a whopping $11.5 million, but he's taken a slight loss given its listing price was $12.9 million.

McIlroy purchased the home for $9.5 million and the vacant lot for $2.25 million in 2012. The house was 16,123 square feet and contained six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, a pool, dock, practice putting area and exercise room.

The four-time major champion has since purchased another home in Jupiter, Florida, near the Bear's Club.
