PGA Tour golfer Billy Horschel left Rasmus Hojgaard in stitches as he revealed he congratulated the wrong brother for winning the Irish Open

Rasmus triumphed at Royal County Down last week, pipping home favourite Rory McIlroy by one shot.

The win represented his fifth DP World Tour victory since he made his professional debut in 2019.

But both golfers were left red-faced after they gave props to the wrong twin in the clubhouse at Wentworth.

Turns out, it the blame lays squarely on the shoulders of Rose after bad intelligence.

Horschel told Rasmus about the awkward moment on the range.

The American could be heard saying to Rasmus: "I was telling your brother, he needs to shave his head.

"We were upstairs, you guys were sitting, and I thought you were up there sitting 'cos I'm like well... long hair, that's Rasmus, Nico has got the short hair.

"So Rosey goes, 'who's that?' That's Rasmus cos I said, Nico's got short hair.

"He goes up to to congratulate and he comes back and goes f---, that wasn't Rasmus!"

Rasmus laughed and replied: "Probably not the last time it'll happen this week."

Play at the BMW PGA Championship gets underway tomorrow morning at 7am BST.

Rose is playing in the marquee group alongside defending champion Ryan Fox and McIlroy.

Horschel will be playing the first two rounds of the flagship event in Surrey alongside Aaron Rai and Nicolai Hojgaard.

Or is it Rasmus?
