LIV Golf recruit Sergio Garcia missed the cut on his return to the DP World Tour at the BMW International Open in Germany.
Garcia made his first start on his home circuit in more than three years this week at Golfclub München Eichenried.
The former Masters champion joined the PIF-backed breakaway in 2022 and resigned from the circuit last May.
He paid off his fines in a bid to try and make the European Ryder Cup team this September but will now need a huge performance at this month's Open Championship if he is to have any chance of making Luke Donald's dozen.
Garcia could only add a second round of level par 72 to his opening 75 to miss the halfway cut by six strokes.
Elsehwhere, YouTube content creator Wesley Bryan was invited to play this week with his older brother George.
Wesley, a PGA Tour winner, is currently suspended by the North American circuit for playing in a LIV Golf YouTube match.
He made the cut here but George missed out.
America's Davis Bryant will take a two-shot lead heading into the weekend.
England's Dan Brown, who challenged at last year's Open at Royal Troon, and Jordan Smith are inside the top 10.
