DP World Tour makes Patrick Reed and Bubba Watson announcement
Reed and Watson will join Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Ryan Fox in a star-studded field at Delhi Golf Club in October.

Patrick Reed and Bubba Watson have confirmed their participation in the 2026 DP World India Championship, joining a star-studded field for the tournament's second edition at Delhi Golf Club from 12-15 October.
The two Masters champions will tee it up alongside defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, career grand slam champion Rory McIlroy and 2026 Open champion Ryan Fox in what is shaping up to be one of the strongest fields of the DP World Tour season.
Major winners Shane Lowry and Justin Rose are also set to return, alongside European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald and Ryder Cup star Viktor Hovland.
DP World Tour and PGA Tour winner Min Woo Lee will make his tournament debut, while Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri are among the Indian players hoping to challenge in front of home support.
Reed will arrive in Delhi as the current leader of the Race to Dubai Rankings and with the chance to secure his third victory of the 2026 season.
The 2018 Masters champion claimed his first Rolex Series title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January before winning the Qatar Masters two weeks later. The three-time Ryder Cup player is now targeting a first season-long Race to Dubai title.
“I really enjoy playing all over the world and I’m looking forward to teeing it up in the DP World India Championship for the first time,” Reed said.
“It looks like a great event and field, and it comes at an important time in the season, so I’m excited to see what we can do in Delhi.”
Two-time Masters champion Watson will also make his first appearance at Delhi Golf Club when the tournament returns in October.
The American left-hander won the Green Jacket in 2012 and 2014 and has claimed 15 victories during his professional career.
“It’s always fun to play in new events and this is one that I was happy to be able to add to my schedule,” Watson said.
“I’ve heard that Delhi Golf Club is a great test, and golf fans in India are very passionate, so I’m looking forward to the week.”
Launched in 2025 by global smart logistics provider DP World and the DP World Tour, the $4 million DP World India Championship is co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India and features the largest prize fund ever offered for a DP World Tour event in the country.
The tournament will once again form part of the crucial Back 9 phase of the Race to Dubai, with the 2026 edition serving as the eighth of nine events before the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs.
Hemant Kumar Ruia, Country Manager, Subcontinent (India), DP World, said the addition of Reed and Watson underlined the ambition behind the event.
“Patrick and Bubba are two of the biggest names in golf, and their tournament debuts at the DP World India Championship further strengthen an already world-class field,” he said.
“India is a key strategic market for DP World, both for our business and for our commitment to building professional golf in the country. To attract players of this calibre in just the second year reflects the ambition we have for this tournament and for the game in India.”
The second edition of the tournament comes as India continues to grow as a destination for elite golf, building on the success of the long-running Hero Indian Open and the increasing momentum of the DP World Tour in the region.
DP World has been the Tour's title partner since 2022 and also became the Title and Official Umbrella Partner of the PGTI earlier this year. Its wider sporting presence in India includes partnerships with the Delhi Capitals, as well as grassroots initiatives such as the Second Life Container programme and Balls for Birdies campaign, which aims to help grow the game and make golf more accessible.
With Reed leading the Race to Dubai and some of the biggest names in world golf set to travel to Delhi, the 2026 DP World India Championship is shaping up to be a pivotal stop in the race for the season-long title.
The event will be followed by the final stages of the Back 9 before the DP World Tour Play-Offs, culminating in November's DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
