Elvis Smylie currently leads LIV Golf's individual standings after capturing his first win on the Saudi Arabia-backed tour.

The 23-year-old clinched LIV's curtain-raiser in Riyadh with a one-shot victory over Spain's Jon Rahm.

Smylie finished on a 72-hole total of 24-under par.

The Australian, who joined Cameron Smith's all-Australian Ripper quartet in the winter, became the first player to win on his debut since former Open champion Henrik Stenson entered the winner's circle in Bedminster four years ago.

Unsurprisingly, Smylie's victory also helped Ripper secure the first team event of the season and fifth overall since the league's inauguration.

He sits atop of the standings with 200 points.

Thomas Detry, who was the highest-ranked signing in the offseason, has also started the season strongly.
