Report: LIV Golf pro DQ'd from first stage of DP World Tour Q-School

LIV Golf's Peter Uihlein was disqualified from the first stage of DP World Tour Q-School, according to a report.

Uihlein was one of three LIV Golf players competing at Huddersfield Golf Club in West Yorkshire, England, but his bid to advance to the second stage ended after two rounds.

The 37-year-old American was 7-over par after opening rounds of 74 and 73. He was tied for 66th entering Friday's third round, with the top 19 players and ties advancing to the second stage.

Uihlein's disqualification was issued after he failed to turn up for his scheduled tee time, according to bunkered.

Spanish LIV Golf players Luis Masaveu and Jose Luis Ballester are also competing at the first stage of qualifying school, with places in the second stage at stake.

Play was suspended on day two due to high winds. South Africa's Daniel Cronje held the lead at 9-under after opening with rounds of 63 and 68. The first stage is contested over four rounds.

The final stage of DP World Tour Q-School will be played in Spain from November 6-11. It will be contested over six rounds.

Only the top 15 players and ties will earn DP World Tour cards for the 2027 season.

The LIV players' participation comes as uncertainty continues to surround the future of the circuit.

LIV Golf is seeking new investment ahead of the 2027 season after the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia ended its financial support for the league earlier this year.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil said last month that the league had signed a term sheet with a potential investor, widely reported to be private equity firm BC Partners.

O'Neil said the parties hoped to complete a deal this month.

He is touting a LIV Golf 2.0 in which the players will be the majority owners.

"They have an opportunity to own it," he told reporters last month. "They get equity in what they're building.

"They regain a majority of their commercial rights, and teams become real businesses with real assets, and for the first time, the interests of the league and the players become truly aligned around building long-term value together."

O'Neil said he believed that LIV had the "critical mass" of players to move LIV forward.

Several high-profile players are said to be keen on moving on.

Spanish outlet TenGolf reported on Thursday that Rahm will depart along with two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and David Puig.

Major champions Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith and Dustin Johnson will reportedly stay.

LIV Golf 2.0 could also feature 10 teams, down from 13, and field sizes of 90 players.

As for the aforementioned Uihlein, he has not discussed his future plans.

Uihlein has been with LIV since its inception. 

He finished 13th in the 2026 LIV Golf individual standings and has earned more than $32m in prize money.
