Tournament organisers of The Open have confirmed the provisional field for the inaugural Last-Chance Qualifier.

The showdown will take place next Monday, three days before the final men's major of the year gets underway at Royal Birkdale.

There will be a total of 12 players vying for one spot into the 156-man field for the 154th edition of the major.

The 18-hole stroke play event will take place at the host venue, with play commencing at 7:30am BST.

Among those in the 12-man field include YouTube golf star and former PGA Tour member Wesley Bryan.

Bryan, who is currently suspended from the PGA Tour for taking part in a LIV Golf affiliated YouTube video, came up agonisingly short at Final Qualifying last week.

The American, 36, needed only a par on the final hole at West Lancashire to secure a spot in a sudden-death playoff but dropped a shot on the 18th, missing a putt from inside 10 feet.

Bryan is not the only notable name in the field.

South Africa's Aldrich Potgieter, who claimed his first PGA Tour title last year, is also in the field.

Potgieter won the Amateur Championship in 2022 and is chasing his third Open start.

Germany's Matti Schmid, who finished fourth at last month's U.S. Open, is also in the field.

Joe Dean, Adri Arnaus, Andrew Wilson and Angel Hidalgo have all previously played in The Open and are aiming to earn a return to the Championship.

Meanwhile, Charles Huntzinger, John Gough and Marcus Helligkilde are each bidding to make their Open debut after narrowly missing out at Final Qualifying.

The field also includes two amateurs - Matt Moloney, runner-up at this year's Amateur Championship, and England's Sam Easterbrook.
