Sam Burns has added a new name to his growing list of commercial partners ahead of the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

The five-time PGA Tour winner has agreed a global brand ambassador partnership with iCapital, with Burns set to debut the company's logo on his chest when he tees it up at TPC Southwind for this week's FedEx St Jude Championship.

The Memphis event marks the beginning of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, with Burns arriving in Tennessee after enjoying an impressive 2026 campaign.

The 29-year-old currently sits 11th in the Official World Golf Ranking, having climbed 14 places from his year-end position of 25 in 2025.

Burns has recorded five top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour this season, but it has been his performances in the biggest events that have really stood out.

The Louisiana native finished runner-up at the 2026 US Open before going one better in terms of his position at the Open Championship, where he claimed third.

He also secured a top-10 finish at the Masters in April.

Those results have helped establish Burns as one of the leading players in the world heading into the most important stretch of the PGA Tour season.

Burns' new partnership with iCapital will see him join a sporting ambassador roster that already includes fellow PGA Tour players Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris, as well as athletes from the US Ski & Snowboard programme.

The American already has an established portfolio of commercial partners, with Callaway Golf supplying his clubs, golf balls and equipment, while Peter Millar is his official apparel partner and PAYNTR Golf provides his footwear.

Away from his equipment deals, Burns also has partnerships with major brands including Mastercard, NetJets, Topgolf and ADP, with iCapital now becoming the latest addition to his growing list of sponsors.

The new agreement further strengthens Burns' profile off the course at a time when his standing on it continues to rise.

For Burns, the deal represents an opportunity to work with a company whose focus on performance and innovation aligns with his approach to professional golf.

"I am honoured to partner with iCapital as a global brand ambassador," Burns said. "Their commitment to innovation, excellence, and driving results in the financial world mirrors the dedication and discipline required to perform at the highest level on the PGA Tour."

The partnership also comes at an intriguing point in Burns' career.

After turning professional in 2017 following his college career at LSU, he has established himself as a regular contender on the PGA Tour, collecting five victories and steadily moving back up the world rankings.

His latest run of form has now put him in position to challenge for the biggest prize of the season as the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin.

The first opportunity comes this week at TPC Southwind, where Burns will not only be looking to make an impact in the opening Playoffs event but will also take to the course sporting his new sponsor's branding for the first time.

iCapital described Burns as an athlete who embodies discipline, high performance and continuous improvement, qualities the company said made him a natural fit for its global ambassador programme.

Burns has also been involved in charitable initiatives away from the course, including supporting Compassion International's Fill the Stadium campaign, which assists children and families living in poverty.

With his world ranking continuing to rise and a string of major championship performances behind him, Burns heads into the FedEx Cup Playoffs with considerable momentum.

Now, with a new partnership in place, attention turns to whether he can translate that form into a deep Playoffs run — beginning at TPC Southwind this week.
