There aren't a lot of products in the equipment space widely agreed to be pretty much perfect, however Titleist's Vokey wedges come about as close to this status of any club in the market right now.

Bob Vokey's designs are so dominant on tour it's almost enough to leave you wondering why other brands bother turning up with wedges at all.

Titleist's wedges accounted for more than half of all the gap, sand and lob wedges used on the PGA Tour in 2025, and have been the most popular on tour every year since 2004.

Vokeys once again took home two majors in the hands of Scottie Scheffler last year, and Players gaming at least one Vokey wedge won 26 times on Tour this season, compared to nine for the nearest competitor.

How, then, do you refine an already universally adored product even further? This, ultimately, was the task of Bob Vokey and his crew of engineers with the SM11 range unveiled today.

Titleist themselves proud in saying that the SM11 represents more of a refinement than a revolution in the wedge space, taking an already much-loved package in the SM10 and dialling it in even further to maximise precision without sacrificing its legendary versatility.

“Everything starts with contact,” said Coret Gerrard, Director of Marketing for Vokey Wedges. “The right bounce and grind help you find a clean strike between grooves two and five. Nail that, and the flight and spin follow — lower, more controlled trajectories with the stopping power great wedge players depend on. That’s built into every Vokey wedge.”

To set the SM11 apart from its predecessor, Titleist focused mostly on honing the ball flight and contact characteristics, refining the three progressive CG placements it uses across the range further to fine-tune launch and provide more precise distances between lofts.

The CG is placed further down the face for a smooth transition from Titleist's irons, while a higher, more heel-ward CG on the shorter wedges produces a lower ball flight for more control.

Titleist have further refined the Vokey's face to produce more spin and control around the greens, with three specific groove shapes implemented throughout the set to suit different shot types. The spin-milled grooves have 5% more volume across the board, with a high-frequency heat treatment applied directly to the impact area to improve the longevity of the groove edges.

A new directional face texture also points down towards the bottom of the club, creating more time with the ball on the club face and imparting more spin on chips.

Titleist's array of grind and sole options remains best in class, with all of six tour-proven grinds returning in the SM11 range.

A new 44 degree F-grind wedge offers a stronger lofted pitching wedge option to suit a growing gapping need, while Scottie Scheffler's famed .06K Grind will also be available at launch.

This, in combination with the different bounce options on offer, means that 27 different wedges will be available to choose from, with a choice of Tour Chrome, a more matte Nickel and Jet Black finishes.

Titleist's Vokey SM11 wedge range will be available for fittings from January 22 and hit store shelves on February 20, with RRPs starting at £179.
