Mati Putters Review: Classy golf milled boutique putters hand produced in Italy
GolfMagic tests out two models in the latest Mati Putters line for 2023.

With exactly two months and counting until the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone in Rome, we thought what better time to learn more about Italian brand Mati Putters and its latest line of flatsticks.
No doubt a relatively new name in the golf equipment industry to many of you, Mati Putters was born 10 years ago by the brainchild of Seliano Brambilla.
The name Mati comes from Seliano's daughter's name, Matilde.
Mati Putters, which are R&A and USGA approved, are milled from solid blocks of SS303 steel and aluminium, and by choice of Seliano, it is Face balanced putters that are preferred in the range.
This means the putter will have a face that faces upwards when you balance the shaft on your finger. It also means the centre of gravity is directly below the axis of the shaft.
GolfMagic recently picked up two of the latest models in the Mati Putters line, the eye-catching Yoroi SS303 and Synchro SS303.
Let's take a closer look at them:

Mati Putters: Looks and Feel
On first look at both of the Mati Yoroi and Mati Synchro Putters, we must admit we were impressed.
For a putter brand that we had never previously come across, the appearance of both of these flatsticks instantly appealed to us over the ball.
Looks are often a personal preference of course, but we think the blue finish is really neat, and it matches perfectly with the block of grey and subtle white alignment line.

The Yoroi will certainly raise a few eyebrows out on the course, but we really admire the head shape, just as we do on the Synchro, which will no doubt appeal more to those who favour traditional blade-style putters.
Everything about these putters just screams hand-made Italian quality, especially when looking at the sole of the putter which features Seliano's signature and the words 'Made In Italy'.
The attention to detail is quite superb.
All in all, a big tick in the looks department for Mati Putters.
The headcovers are also pretty epic, adding to the overall quality of the product.
When it comes to feel off of both of these Mati Putters, we noted a consistently firm but pleasant feel off the face.
This was to be expected though, especially given all of the Mati Putters in the line take shape from a block of AISI 303 steel where more than two kilos of material have been milled to reduce them to the final 350 grams of the Syncho and 370 grams of the Yoroi.
We do prefer slightly softer feeling putters such as from Odyssey if we are honest, but once again, feel is very much a personal preference so what feels nicer to us might not feel quite as nice to you.
If you like a firm pop off the face with your putter though, you're in luck.
There's also a fairly muted sound off the face.
Of the two putters, the Yoroi felt a little nicer for our stroke just with its heavier weight of 370g compared to the 350g of the Synchro.
Both feel great though.

Mati Putters: Forgiveness and Performance
When it comes to forgiveness and performance, the Mati Putters do a fair job at helping you hole more putts.
The Yoroi we found to be the much more forgiving of the two putters in our test, but the Synchro certainly ran it close.
With the Yoroi, we took 10 putts from inside of six feet on a straight line and holed six of them.
We then stepped up to 10 putts from inside of 12 feet and made four of them, with three putts burning the left edge.
Following that we stepped things up to 30 feet to gauge the Yoroi for distance control and it performed admirably with two putts holed and five other putts ending up within the leather.
Switching over to the Synchro, and we holed five out of 10 putts from six feet, three out of 10 from 12 feet and one from 30 feet, but once again with solid distance control with the majority of our putts.
Of the two putters, we narrowly preferred the overall performance of the Mati Yoroi Putter.
Should you purchase either the Yoroi or Syncho from Mati Putters?
There are certainly more forgiving and better all-round performing putters on the market this season, but the Yoroi and Syncho from Mati Putters are certainly worthy additions to our Best Golf Putters Guide this season.
The Yoroi ticked a few more boxes for us just with its overall looks and heavier head weight, but the Syncho certainly ran it very close.
These putters aren't the cheapest at well over €300 each, but if you do have the cash to splash and are in the market for a stylish and luxurious hand produced putter then you will most definitely want to take a closer look at Mati Putters this season.
