With the new slow play rules in force on the European Tour, all eyes were on Bryson DeChambeau during his defence of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic last week and on the very last day of the tournament, the defending champion was put on the clock and given a slow play warning.

DeChambeau played his final round alongside Eddie Pepperell, a controversial pairing to say the least, after Pepperell labelled DeChambeau a 'twit' following a slow play incident last year.

After their final round, Pepperell took to Twitter to provide an update on his relationship with DeChambeau.

"We actually got on quite well. And to hit credit, he's sped up," tweeted the Englishman.

DeChambeau started the day just two shots behind leader Ashun Wu and climbed the leaderboard to find himself sharing a tie for the lead with just four holes to play.

Nine under would have been good enough for a spot in the playoff for DeChambeau, but he collapsed with four bogeys over his last four holes, dropping him into T8.

Although Pepperell stated that his playing partner had sped up, DeChambeau received a slow play warning on the 10th hole from the European Tour and was put on the clock, which he seemed unimpressed with at the time. Watch for yourself below:

A conversation was caught on camera between DeChambau and his caddie Tim Tucker on the 14th hole, where the two were debating the correct club choice for DeChambeau's approach, choosing between a "10 o'clock 8-iron" and a "10:30 9-iron."

DeChambeau went on to par the 14th hole, but that would be his final par of the day.
