Targeted towards the slightly better player and acting as a replacement for the SLDR and RocketBladez Tour irons, TaylorMade RSi 2 features new Face Slot Technology in the 3- to 8-iron, like the RSi 1, but has much more of a streamlined head.

Face Slot Technology provides more uniform flexion across the face that protects ball speed and generates more distance on off-centre hits toward the heel and toe.

An improved Speed Pocket with ThruSlot Technology features in the 3- to 7-iron, and this provides ball speed protection on shots below the centre of the face, and increases launch angle and ball speed.

Tungsten weighting also features in the toe of the 3- to 5-iron to help getting the ball airborne with the long irons, while 8-iron to PW is cast with a forged face.

RSi 2 irons come with a KBS Tour 105 shaft as standard.

Brett Wahl, TaylorMade's Vice President R&D of irons, said: "The RSi 2 iron set provides the ideal blend of performance and beauty. We have combined a progressive multi-material construction (Tungsten and Forged Components) with our most innovative performance technologies (Face Slots, Speed Pocket with ThruSlot) to provide the best of all worlds in a slim, beautiful package."

RRP £829 (available November 14)
