Dustin Johnson has withdrawn from next week's Mayakoba Golf Classic on the PGA Tour due to wanting to spend more time with his fiancee Paulina Gretzky and their young boys.

Johnson, who won his second career major title in his last competitive start at The Masters two weeks ago, cited he needed a bit more rest after an exhaustive few months on the PGA Tour in the lead up to the season's final major at Augusta National earlier this month.

"I have heard nothing but great things about the tournament, golf course and the Mayakoba resort, so I was excited to play," said Johnson.

"However, my mind and body are telling me it’s time for a break, so I look forward to spending some much-needed time at home with Paulina (Gretzky) and the boys."

Johnson, 36, has played some of the best golf of his career over the past six months on the PGA Tour, with four victories coming at the Travelers Championship, The Northern Trust, FedEx Cup and The Masters.

The World No.1 was last week spotted relaxing on holiday with Paulina and his friends in St Barths. Paulina was spotted capping off The Masters party with a nude photo.

Johnson is expected to next tee it up at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii in early January 2021.
