How much Viktor Hovland and others earned at the Memorial Tournament

Viktor Hovland picked up the biggest cheque of his PGA Tour career thus far following a playoff victory at the Memorial Tournament.

Hovland made par at the first extra hole, the par-4 18th, to see off Denny McCarthy and collect his fourth PGA Tour title in the process.

The Norwegian ace now moves to fifth in the world rankings.

Hovland received a cheque for $3.6m, while McCarthy took home a consolation $2.18m as the American remains in pursuit of his maiden PGA Tour title.

The Memorial Tournament is one of a number of designated events on the PGA Tour, hence the huge prize money on offer.
