Cobra RADSPEED Fairway Woods Review | "IT WENT 300 YARDS!"

The fairway wood that goes 300 yards - no wonder Bryson DeChambeau is a big fan of this golf club...

Pros
Three very different models to suit different playing abilities; standard is the most forgiving and the Big Tour proved the longest - it went 300 yards!
Cons
The Tour version was very difficult to hit and the head is particularly small which may take some getting used to.

Cobra has dropped its brand new RADSPEED fairway woods - set to be played by Bryson DeChambeau and Rickie Fowler on the PGA Tour in 2021 - and we've taken them down to Gray's Golf to give them a first hit.

GolfMagic's Equipment and Social Manager Alex Lodge takes a closer look at the RADSPEED standard, RADSPEED Big Tour and RADSPEED Tour fairway woods in our latest video review below:

COBRA RADSPEED STANDARD FW:

It's got a glossy finish and looks very similar to Cobra's new XB driver. It's very easy to hit and the most forgiving of all three models. I used this model in 14.5 degrees and it was very difficult to hit offline. Some very complimentary numbers - not the longest, but it's certainly out there. It's a really nicely weighted fairway wood. This is definitely the one of the trio of new Cobra fairways for the game improvement player.

COBRA RADSPEED BIG TOUR FW:

Lovely matte finish, which is my favourite look of the three fairways here. The face isn't quite as a deep as the standard version, so this one is more for the lower handicap golfer. It was less forgiving than the standard version, but this was the longest of all three fairways for me. This one is for the lower handicap player who perhaps would love a replacement for their driver. It's a very powerful club with great feel. Sweet sounding when you crack one out the middle too.

COBRA RADSPEED TOUR FW:

This one has a very small head. This one is for the very good golfer who is confident with their ball striking. Despite its small size, it was a little more forgiving than the Big Tour and that surprised me. The head design is very small for a fairway wood, so that might take some getting used to for fairway fans. I found this one not quite as long as the Big Tour fairway.

VERDICT

Of all three Cobra RADSPEED fairway woods, the one for my own game - as a 6-handicap golfer - is the Big Tour model. If you seek more forgiveness, then opt for the standard model. If you're a very good ball striker, then you might want to take a punt on the Tour version.

At £229, the new Cobra RADSPEED fairway wood represents terrific value for a premium new golf club, with three very different versions to suit different playing abilities. Cobra has accounted for every golfer here which is great to see.

We definitely recommend getting custom fit for all of your clubs, so please take a closer look at all three of these new fairway woods to see which one suits your game the most. We would love to know how you get on, so please share your comments on our YouTube video.
