Overall Review

The great thing about the Aire is its simplicity. Turn it on when you arrive at the course, once it's found the satellites, select your course and that's it as the Aire will automatically switch holes as you play. A quick glance at the Aire shows you the front, middle and back of the green distances in large and easily readable numbers. Other features available on the Aire are shot distance measuring, score tracking and an Odometer. The battery easily lasts 2 rounds. The main selling point for me was the free updates for the Sky Caddie maps as these maps are probably the most accurate of all Golf GPS devices. The Aire has over 30,000 preloaded courses, so you don't have to worry about downloading a course before you go and play it. Course updates are available when Sky Caddie release them, but they have been slow in doing this. When I first got my Aire, the map pack for the Aire (and other Sky Caddie sport series devices like their watch) had not been updated for 8 months. I contacted Sky Caddie and they did update the map pack. I had to contact them again 6 months later as it had not been updated since and they did update the pack again. One thing I have noticed with the Aire is that the distance shown can take a while to settle down. The reason for this is the GPS receiver in the Sky Caddie sports series devices is not as good as the likes of the SGX. The distance shown normally only changes by a few yards so it does not make a great deal of difference, just annoying.

Strengths

Large numbers which can be easily read. Turn on, select course and don't need to touch it after that. Accuracy of Sky Caddie's maps. Free map updates and no membership fees.

Weaknesses

Only has distances to front, middle and back of greens. GPS receiver not as accurate as Sky Caddie tour series devices like the SGX. Slow in updating map packs for Sky Caddie sports series.
