Pros
- Pin-point accuracy, consistently solid yardages, easy to lock into the flag, comfortable to use, sleek design.
Cons
- Not the cheapest out there but still cheaper than the former model.

Zoom has released a brand new golf rangefinder in the Focus S and it is without doubt the brand's most impressive product yet.

Following in the footsteps of its elder brother, the equally impressive Focus X, the main difference with the Focus S for 2022 is a much sleeker design.

It's also a little cheaper than before at £199 as opposed to £220, which instantly adds more appeal. Of the standout features of this premium golf rangefinder, the ergonomic design fits perfectly and comfortably in the palm of the hand.

As much as the older Zoom Focus Tour is a better and larger design, the Focus S model is a very impressive and affordable option which gives accurate yardages that compete with the Bushnell Tour V5.

What is the Zoom Focus S Golf Rangefinder all about?

Crystal-clear optics lead the way in this stylish new design, with a super wide 7° field of vision, 6x magnification, ultra-bright LCD display and an adjustable eyepiece to cater for golfers with different levels of vision.

The premium optics combine with a host of practical features to make a golfer's life on the course easier such as vibration feedback, slope mode, flag scan mode and continuous measurement for scanning the course.

Flag scan mode is the feature which utilises vibration feedback. When you successfully pick up your target, the golf rangefinder will buzz and you are ready to go.

This product is approved for tournament play when the slope function is switched off. It is available in black/silver and black colourways, as you can check out online.

Zoom has also brought back one of its most popular features from the Focus X with a micro USB rechargeable battery that lasts over 50 rounds on one full charge.

At just 170g and with an ergonomic design that fits perfectly in the hand, the Focus S is a dream to use on the course. Each unit comes with a protective carry case that includes a carabiner so that it can hang from a golf bag, and a bungee attachment for quick, easy access.

These neat features mean the new Focus S is a practical addition to a golfer's gear both when it's needed and when it isn't. This impressive unit does everything a golfer needs and nothing less, in a stylish, practical package.

Verdict

Without question one of the best golf rangefinders on the market right now. While some £20 less than its predecessor, it does everything you could possibly wish for and it's highly accurate. It's light, comfortable in the hand and just so easy to operate out on the golf course.

We also found the yardages were consistently solid during the round with the ability to lock in on the flag a big bonus as it avoided picking out one of the trees beyond the green.

Some players out there consider golf rangefinders to contribute to slow play, but with the Focus S you are wasting little time in locking down your yardage so there is no danger of that happening.
