Born on August 4, 1994, in Medellín, Colombia, he developed a passion for golf at a young age and quickly emerged as one of his country's most promising talents.
Echavarría played collegiate golf at the University of Arkansas, where he competed for the Razorbacks and built a strong reputation through consistent performances.
After turning professional in 2017, he began competing on developmental tours, including the Korn Ferry Tour, where he refined his game and gained valuable competitive experience.
He earned wider recognition after securing his first PGA Tour victory at the Puerto Rico Open in 2023, marking a significant milestone in his career and establishing him as one of Colombia’s leading golfers.
He picked up the biggest victory of his career to date at the 2026 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, coming from behind to defeat Ireland's Shane Lowry at PGA National.
