Srixon’s new ZXi RKT Drivers are here – and they have already chalked up massive wins

It’s not often a new driver launch arrives with a trophy cabinet already filling up, but Srixon’s ZXi RKT is the exception.

The Japanese brand’s latest drivers have already enjoyed a remarkable start to life on Tour, with Ryan Fox using the ZXi RKT LS+ to win The Open in July and Shane Lowry claiming a record-breaking 11-shot victory at the Irish Open earlier this month with the same club in his bag.

Now, after months of Tour testing and refinement, Srixon has officially pulled back the curtain on the ZXi RKT family – and there is considerably more to it than a new driver head.

For the first time, Srixon is offering three distinct models: the standard ZXi RKT, the high-MOI ZXi RKT Max and the lower-spinning ZXi RKT LS. 

All three drivers feature a new RKT Face, carbon fibre construction, adjustable hosels and moveable weighting, while Srixon’s new Acousticore technology has been developed to improve the sound and feel at impact.

In other words, Srixon isn't simply refreshing its driver line-up for another season, but it has taken the opportunity to rethink how its drivers are designed, how they perform across the face and, importantly, how they feel when you put them behind the ball.

With two wins already under its belt, including a first Srixon driver win at a major since 2023, the ZXi RKT certainly has the credentials. 

Now, after months of hype, we finally know what Srixon has been keeping under wraps.

So, what’s new?

Srixon’s brand new ZXi RKT range expands the company’s driver offering from two to three models for the very first time.

The ZXi RKT serves as the core model, with the new, high-MOI ZXi RKT Max adding a more forgiving option for golfers who prioritise stability and consistency.

The ZXi RKT LS, used by both Fox and Lowry – in proto versions called LS+ – then rounds out the offering for players looking for a lower-spinning, more penetrating ball flight.

All three drivers feature carbon fibre crowns and moveable weights, with different weighting designs on each model, alongside adjustable hosels to help golfers fine-tune launch and spin characteristics.

Making its debut across the ZXi RKT range is what Srixon calls Acousticore: a new internal structure of carbon fibre ribs designed to optimise the sound and feel of the drivers.

The technology is intended to make best use of the expanded carbon fibre footprint, delivering a more solid, crisp sensation and sound at impact.

Beyond this, the RKT Face has also been significantly tuned from the previous ZXi generation, with its flex and roll redesigned to deliver more consistent ball speeds, forgiveness and accuracy across the face.

Srixon has also reshaped each model significantly from its predecessor, with what the company calls a Tour-Driven chassis designed to create a look at address that inspires confidence for professionals and amateurs alike.

“Throughout testing, one of the most consistent themes we heard from players was the desire for more speed across a larger area of the face without giving up consistency,” said Patrick Ripp, Tour Engineering Manager at Srixon.

“RKT Face was developed to answer that challenge. By combining several technologies into a single performance system, we were able to create a face that not only produces exceptional ball speed but does so more consistently across a wider range of impact locations.”

Down the bag

The ZXi RKT family doesn't stop at the driver.

Joining the three new drivers are updated ZXi RKT fairway woods and hybrids, which will debut in both men's and women's variants.

Both feature the same RKT Face technology and Tour-Driven shaping as the new drivers, creating a consistent look and technology story throughout the top end of the bag.
