The Golf Foundation has announced the appointment of former European Tour professional Oli Fisher as its newest ambassador, strengthening a long-standing relationship built on a shared passion for growing the game.

Fisher’s new role reflects his ongoing commitment to using golf as a positive force — particularly in supporting young people and creating more inclusive opportunities within the sport.

Now head prrofessional at Centurion Club, Fisher has been instrumental in delivering initiatives that make golf more accessible, welcoming and impactful for the next generation.

During his playing career, Fisher enjoyed notable success on the European Tour (now DP World Tour), most famously making history at the 2018 Portugal Masters where he recorded the Tour’s first-ever round of 59

Fisher captured his first and only European Tour title with a two-stroke victory at the 2011 Czech Open.

Since stepping away from full-time competition, he has remained a prominent voice in the game, regularly appearing on Sky Sports’ golf coverage alongside Golf Foundation President Nick Dougherty.

Born in Chingford, London, Fisher’s journey began at Crowlands Golf Club under the guidance of PGA coach Chris Jenkins, before developing further at West Essex Golf Club. His potential was clear from an early age, highlighted by three consecutive Faldo Series titles between 2003 and 2005, under the mentorship of Nick Faldo.

He went on to represent both England and Europe with distinction, claiming victories in the European Boys’ Team Championship and the Junior Ryder Cup. In 2005, he became the youngest player to compete in the Walker Cup—an early indicator of the career that would follow.

In his current role at Centurion Club, Fisher is deeply involved in engaging young people with the game, helping to create environments that foster confidence, personal development and wellbeing through golf.

From historic 59 to inspiring youth: Oli Fisher’s next chapter

As an ambassador of Golf Foundation, Fisher will work closely with the Golf Foundation to further expand key initiatives such as Unleash Your Drive in Clubs and Schools, along with the increasingly popular GolfSixes League.

This partnership also reinforces the Golf Foundation’s long-standing connection with Centurion Club, which hosted the original GolfSixes concept event in 2017. What began as an innovative format has since evolved into one of the Foundation’s flagship participation programmes.

Today, GolfSixes League introduces thousands of young people to the sport through fun, team-based competition and community engagement. In 2025 alone, more than 9,000 junior golfers took part across the UK, underlining the programme’s growing impact.

Speaking on his new role, Fisher said: “I’m honoured to become an official ambassador for the Golf Foundation. From my early days as a junior to my career as a tour professional, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible work the Foundation does to support young, aspiring golfers. Golf is for everyone, whatever their starting point, and I’m proud to support its initiatives as they continue to grow the game in an inclusive and inspiring way.”

Golf Foundation Chief Executive Brendon Pyle added: “We are thrilled to welcome Oli as an ambassador. His journey in the game, his passion for developing young people, and his leadership at Centurion Club align perfectly with our values. Oli understands how powerful golf can be in shaping lives, and we’re excited to work with him to extend that impact nationwide.”

The Golf Foundation looks forward to collaborating with Fisher and the team at Centurion Club to strengthen pathways into the sport, inspire future generations, and ensure golf remains accessible to young people from all backgrounds.
