Genesis Scottish Open Revised Third Round Tee Times after lengthy fog delay at The Renaissance Club
Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick will now tee off at 6:04pm, with leaders Tom Kim and Jordan Smith pushed back to 6:15pm after more than two hours of fog disruption.
The DP World Tour has confirmed the revised Saturday third-round tee times for the Genesis Scottish Open following a lengthy weather delay at The Renaissance Club.
Play was suspended at 10:45am local time on Saturday due to heavy fog, resulting in a delay of more than two hours.
A total of 15 players managed to start their third rounds before play was halted, but remarkably none of them were under par at the time of the suspension, highlighting just how challenging the scoring conditions were in the early morning fog.
Following an extended wait for visibility to improve, tournament officials confirmed play would resume at 1:10pm local time.
The final pairing of Jordan Smith and Tom Kim had originally been scheduled to tee off at 3:35pm, but their start time has now been pushed back to 6:15pm.
World No.2 Rory McIlroy, who begins the third round tied for the lead alongside Smith and Kim, will play in the penultimate group with European Ryder Cup teammate Matt Fitzpatrick. The pair, with Fitzpatrick sitting just one shot behind the leaders, will tee off at 6:04pm.
As a result of the lengthy suspension, the third round will not be completed before darkness falls on Saturday evening.
The leading groups will therefore return early on Sunday morning to finish their third rounds, weather permitting, before the tournament concludes with the final round later in the day as scheduled.
The Scottish Open is a co-sanctioned tournament on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.
