Haeran Ryu banked $1.4 million after defeating Brooke Henderson in a playoff to win the Amundi Evian Championship and claim her second consecutive major title.

The LPGA's fourth major of the season featured a $9.1 million purse, with South Korea's Ryu making birdie on the first extra hole to edge Henderson after both players finished regulation tied on 19-under-par.

Ryu, 25, collected the winner's cheque of $1,400,000, while securing her second career major title and fifth win of her LPGA career.

She won her first major title at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Hazeltine last month.

Runner-up Henderson earned $835,391 after producing one of the best final rounds of the season.

The Canadian stormed from seven shots back with a sensational seven-under 64 that featured three eagles, including a hole-in-one, before eventually losing in the playoff.

Japan's Aki Iwai claimed solo third and earned $606,017, while Jin Hee Im, Miyu Yamashita and Mao Saigo each took home $384,954 after sharing fourth place.

Elsewhere, Lydia Ko and Anna Nordqvist tied for seventh to earn $242,409 apiece.

World number one Nelly Korda, who won the season's first two majors, missed her first cut of the season.

It marked Korda's first MC in a major since the Women's PGA in 2024.

Three amateurs made the cut, but as is standard on the LPGA, they were not eligible to receive prize money.

The Amundi Evian Championship marked the fourth of five ladies majors this season.

The final major of the season is the AIG Women's Open, which this year takes place at famed Royal Lytham & St Annes from 29 July - 2 August.
