Si Woo Kim is going backwards. Fast.
He pays the price for a poor tee shot at the par-3 12th, missing the green and failing to hole his putt from 14 feet.

Looks like he's drawn a decent lie.
Make no mistake, he will be going for this pin.

Ryan Fox drops a shot at the 11th having put his third off the green.
Burns makes another par, but isn't creating too many birdie chances at the moment.

Fist pump.
He marches towards the final hole.
Imagine!
Gerard -6, Kim -9 (11)

Scottie Scheffler finds his original ball but it's near the hospitality tent. He gets a drop, then sends a delightful shot towards the flag. Birdie chance incoming.
It needs to go.
Herbert -7, Aberg -5 (12*)
A blocked tee shot leaves Herbert with little hope of finding the green in two at the 11th.
He digs out well but his approach lands in the bunker.
He splashes out, but takes two from there.
Scheffler -7 (17*)
Scheffler is in deep trouble over at the 17th.
He fancies a crack in two, but is stuck behind a huge sand dune.
His attempt darts left and nobody knows where it went.
He reloads, and does exactly the same thing!
Burns -8, Fox -8 (10)
Ryan Fox and Sam Burns walk off the 10th green having both missed birdie putts from around 20 feet.
DeChambeau -2 (12*)
Any hope DeChambeau had of winning The Open with a big finish has just vanished.
He visits the rough down the 11th fairway and takes more than one to get out.
It all leads to a messy triple bogey.
One would imagine the American will make a swift exit from Southport.
"If you’d asked me a number [at the start of the day], I would have said 10. Any time you’re leading a major championships, it’s hard. Sam [Burns] is a proven winner on PGA Tour, a great player in good form so I expect him to play well but it is hard.
"I’ll go in and watch for a little bit. I’ll be hanging around."
Scheffler -7 (16)
Scottie Scheffler's approach into the 16th is not great by his standards. Still, he has no trouble holing his birdie putt from 11 feet.
Burns -8, Fox -8 (9)

Will he muster a big finish?
Fleetwood -5 (11)
It's all going wrong for Tommy as he gets out of position at the par-4 11th off the tee and leaves himself 11 feet for par.
Three dropped shots in a row.
Oh, Tommy Lad.
Young -9 (64)
Cameron Young nearly holes his bunker shot for par.
He can't believe it.
"No way," he says.
He holes out from four feet to save bogey, post a 6-under 64 and set the target of 9-under.
DeChambeau -5, Suber -4 (9)
Bryson DeChambeau's race could be run.
He hits his tee shot at the 9th short of the green then pitches over the back.
DeChambeau chips to 20 feet but the distance proves too much this time.
Five back.
Young -10 (17)
An absolute calamity finish for Cameron Young here.
After assessing his options from the trap, he elects to go for it but smashes the lip with his approach.
He's fortunate that his ball is sitting up in the rough.
He sends his approach towards the green but finds more sand.
This could be fatal...
Burns -8, Fox -9 (7)
Two pars for these two at the par-3 7th.
Fleetwood -6 (10)
Back-to-back bogeys for the Englishman, who makes a mess of the 10th having made a meal of the 9th.
Young -10 (18*)
Huge tee shot for Cameron Young.
He finds the bunker...
Young -10 (17)
Cameron Young sends his approach from the fairway at the par-5 17th towards the green.
It trundles off the right edge but he plays a delightful bump and run to three feet.
He converts, and now finds himself in a share of the lead.
Given the apparent choke-off going on right now, 10-under would be a fabulous total to set.
