Golf world reacts as PGA Tour superstar Jason Day posts "I've quit" message
Jason Day leaves golf fans confused with his latest cryptic message on social media.
Jason Day has left golf fans scratching the surface with a cryptic Instagram post.
Day, 38, has taken to his Instagram this weekend to post an "I've quit" graphic with the caption "official announcement soon".
But fear not PGA Tour fans. Day isn't leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf, at least to our knowledge here at GolfMagic.
Day no doubt has something else to inform us about, which we'll learn about soon.
Nevertheless, the Australian's confusing social post has got many of his most ardent fans talking on Instagram.
"Full time YouTuber now?" wrote one fan.
Another commented: "Flat faced irons?"
One joked: "Having kids?"
Bryan Bros Golf also got involved, writing: "I’ve quit…playing steel shafted clubs?! Yes we know, that’s why I am team graphite!"
CBS Sports also chimed in with a shocked GIF.
Check out Day's post below:
Day's latest social media activity comes less than a week before the start of the 2026 PGA Tour season.
He isn't listed in next week's Sony Open field, but he is confirmed to tee it up at The American Express the following week.

Day recently launched a new YouTube and social media channel called 'The Lads'.
Whether his latest cryptic post has anything to do with YouTube is unknown.
He recently filmed a new video with LPGA superstar Charley Hull, which you can watch below.
Day, like Hull, is a Malbon ambassador, but he is a free agent in the golf club world.
Once ranked World No.1, Day looks on from the 55th rung of the ladder as he enters 2026.
The 13-time PGA Tour winner and one-time PGA champion racked up just four top-10s in 2025.
Day's last win on the PGA Tour came at the Byron Nelson in May 2023.
It remains to be seen exactly what Day has quit.
But we'll certainly find out soon. Watch this space.
