RBC Heritage Third Round Tee Times: Matt Fitzpatrick leads Viktor Hovland at Harbour Town

Matt Fitzpatrick takes a narrow one-shot lead over his Ryder Cup teammate Viktor Hovland into the weekend at the RBC Heritage. 

England's Fitzpatrick fired an impressive eight-under 63 on Friday to surge to the top of the leaderboard on 14-under par. The Englishman now leads by one over Norway's Hovland, who posted an equally impressive 65. 

Fitzpatrick's round counts as an official course record at the RBC Heritage, despite being two shots worse than the actual lowest ever score at Harbour Town Golf Links shared by three people. That's because the course was renovated by Davis Love III after last year's tournament, which was won by Justin Thomas.

The PGA Tour's decision to award Fitzpatrick with a new Heritage course record has not sat well with on-course commentator John Maginnes, or LPGA legend Dame Laura Davies for that matter. 

Maginnes went as far to claim the call is "disrespectful" to Thomas (2025), Troy Merritt (2015) and David Frost (1994), who all fired 61s through the years at the Heritage.

Fitzpatrick is looking to win the RBC Heritage for a second time having defeated Jordan Spieth in a playoff in 2023. 

He's also looking to capture a second PGA Tour title in his last three starts this season. 

Fitzpatrick takes a narrow one-shot lead over Hovland into the weekend on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.

Harris English finds himself in solo third four shots off the pace on 10-under par.

Sepp Straka, Ludvig Aberg and Patrick Cantlay round out the top five on nine-under par. 

Further down the board, world number one Scottie Scheffler has work to do at seven-under par. 

Scheffler is also seeking a second title at the RBC Heritage, as well as this season. 

Here's how we stand entering round three. 

European Ryder Cup teammates Fitzpatrick and Hovland will now head out in the final pairing for Saturday's third round. 

English will also be joined his own U.S. Ryder Cup teammate Cantlay in the penultimate match of the day. 

There will be another all-Ryder Cup pairing out in force in the third-last match too when Straka joins Aberg. 

On that basis, all of the leaders should feel pretty content about their pairings heading into the third round at the RBC Heritage.

There was no half way cut due to there being a limited field of 82 players starting out on Thursday. 

The $20m RBC Heritage marks the fourth Signature Event of the 2026 PGA Tour season. 

The winner will receive a huge $3.6m.
