Tour Championship Final Scores and Prize Money Payouts as Scheffler lands second FedEx Cup

Scottie Scheffler produced a stunning final-round comeback at East Lake Golf Club to claim the Tour Championship and seal his second FedEx Cup title in three years.

The World No.1 started the final round three shots off the lead but closed with a brilliant six-under 66 to finish the week at 16-under par, three shots clear of Viktor Hovland.

Hovland, who began the final round with a three-shot advantage over Scheffler, could not maintain his momentum and stumbled to a two-over 72. That opened the door for Scheffler, who took full advantage to add another huge title to what has been another remarkable season.

The Tour Championship was the final event of the FedEx Cup campaign, meaning Scheffler has now lifted the trophy twice, having previously won the season-long competition in 2024.

His latest triumph also comes with a massive financial reward. 

Scheffler banks $10 million from the $40 million Tour Championship purse, while the victory takes his PGA Tour career earnings beyond Tiger Woods' longstanding record.

Scheffler's new career earnings total stands at $130,390,661, moving him ahead of Woods at $120,999,166.

There is an obvious caveat to the comparison given the enormous increase in prize money on the PGA Tour during the modern era, but it remains another remarkable statistical milestone for Scheffler.

Scheffler has now won 22 times on the PGA Tour, compared with Woods' joint-record 82 victories alongside the late Sam Snead. The two players are now also tied on two FedEx Cup titles, while Rory McIlroy remains the record holder with three.

The win marks Scheffler's third of the 2026 season and all-but secures him a fifth consecutive PGA Tour Player of the Year award.

Scheffler pointed to his final-round performance at East Lake as he favourite moment of the season. 

"I think today, to come from behind and being able to win is a really cool feeling," Scheffler said.

"There was a lot of talented guys in front of me on the board and I was fortunate to get off to a good start, get in the mix, and the crowd has been amazing, the support I've got out here has been tremendous."

"It's really fun to be able to celebrate moments like this with the fans. To have my family here too is special."

Scheffler was also delighted to have wife Meredith and their children at East Lake, saying it was becoming easier for his family to travel with him during the season.

In 20 starts on the PGA Tour in 2026, the four-time major champion won three times and finished runner-up five times. He also finished inside the top-four in 13 of his tournaments, and only missed one cut coming at the Genesis Scottish Open in July. 

Ryan Gerard claimed outright third at 12-under par and collected $3.705 million, while Hovland's runner-up finish was worth $5 million.

McIlroy, a three-time FedEx Cup champion, finished the week at 11-under par and was part of a huge seven-way tie for fourth alongside Alex Fitzpatrick, Jacob Bridgeman, Min Woo Lee, Russell Henley, Chris Gotterup and Ludvig Aberg.

That result earned McIlroy $1.695 million from the Tour Championship purse, although he ultimately fell short of adding a fourth FedEx Cup title to his record.

Elsewhere, Justin Rose produced arguably the shot of the week when the former FedEx Cup champion slammed his tee shot straight into the hole for an ace on the par-three ninth.

Rose, who won the FedEx Cup in 2018, finished at 7-under par in a tie for 18th and earned $460,000.

The only player in the field not to complete the opening round was J.J. Spaun. 

The American withdrew after five holes on Thursday because of injury and finished 30th in the FedEx Cup standings. 

Spaun received $355,000.

With Scheffler once again at the top of the standings, the 2026 FedEx Cup season has ended with another emphatic reminder of the American's dominance.
