Presidents Cup Betting Tips: Five Sunday singles picks combine at 15/2

GolfMagic Editor and expert tipster Andy Roberts has picked out five bets for Sunday’s Presidents Cup singles, with his selections combining to make a 15/2 accumulator.

The Internationals have performed strongly so far at Medinah, taking a 10.5-7.5 lead into the final day, but rather than getting involved in the outright market, Andy is targeting five of the 12 singles matches.

Andy's five Sunday selections are focused on players who have impressed during the week, with the added benefit that a tied match is treated as a void selection. That means if one of the five matches finishes tied, the accumulator would halve in price rather than the bet being lost.

Cameron Young to beat Ryo Hisatsune – 1/2 (tie void bet) 

Andy is starting his accumulator with Cameron Young in the opening singles match.

Young has gone 2-2 this week, while International debutant Ryo Hisatsune is 1-1. 

Although 1/2 is a relatively short price, Andy believes Young’s experience and quality should be enough to see off Hisatsune.

With the American sent out first, there is also the opportunity to get an early U.S. point on the board.

It will be needed one at that, too. 

Scottie Scheffler to beat Nico Echavarria – 1/7 (tie void bet)

This is the shortest-priced selection of the five, but Andy cannot see past Scottie Scheffler.

The World No.1 was rested during the previous session and should be fresh for his singles match, while Nico Echavarria has played just once this week, losing 4&3 alongside Corey Conners in Thursday’s fourballs.

It is a skinny price at 1/7, but Scheffler provides another strong leg for the accumulator.

Sam Burns to beat Sungjae Im – 8/13 (tie void bet)

Sam Burns was one of Andy’s pre-tournament picks to finish as the Presidents Cup’s leading points scorer, and while he's just about out of the running in that particular market, he remains confident in the American here.

Burns is 2-2 for the week, while Sungjae Im has a 1-2-1 record. 

Both have played every session, but Burns’ recent form gives Andy confidence that he can finish the week strongly.

Si Woo Kim to beat Jackson Koivun – 8/11 (tie void bet)

This could be one of the most entertaining matches of the day, but Andy is siding with International star Si Woo Kim.

Kim is joint-leading points scorer alongside Tom Kim after going 3-1 this week. 

American rookie Jackson Koivun is unbeaten at 1-0-1, but Andy believes Kim’s experience and form can give him the edge.

Min Woo Lee to beat Jacob Bridgeman – 4/5 (tie void bet)

The final leg of Andy’s fivefold accumulator is Min Woo Lee.

Lee has been one of the Internationals’ strongest performers, going 2-1-1, while Jacob Bridgeman is still searching for his first point after going 0-2 on his Presidents Cup debut.

Bridgeman did win on the PGA Tour last week, but Andy believes Lee’s performances at Medinah make him the value play in this matchup.

With the Internationals needing just five points from the 12 singles to secure the Presidents Cup, there is plenty at stake — and Andy believes these five players offer an interesting way to attack the final day from a betting perspective.

If you do fancy the outright win market, the Internationals are now 5/6 having started the week as big outsiders at 13/2. The USA, who started the week heavy favourites at odds of 1/5, are now available at 13/8. The tie is now 13/2 having been 22/1 on Thursday.
