Mark Townsend

Mark Townsend contributes to the GolfMagic content team as a golf course freelance writer. 

There are few golf courses in the United Kingdom that Mark hasn't played and he is considered one of the best course and travel writers in the game. 

He's also played at a load of European courses during his career along with many others in the United States. 

Mark has worked in the golf media industry for more than 25 years.

He first started out as a reporter for the Press Association and BBC Sport before going on to work at Sky Sports where he became the editor of the Sky Sports Golf website. 

Mark then moved over to National Club Golfer and Lady Golfer where he worked as the deputy editor. 

His home club is Moortown GC, one of the best golf courses in Yorkshire, and he plays off a 6-handicap. 

Mark is a big Leeds United fan.
