Meanwhile TaylorMade is also introducing the Ghost Manta - similar to the large-headed Ghost Spider - with regular, belly and long-shafted options - and six Ghost Tour models – three mallets and three blades.

With its wide-bodied frame, the Ghost Manta features a new flat matte white finish and two black stripes for easy alignment and a double-bend shaft delivering offset without the shaft distracting from the putt.

It also has 50-gram tungsten weights on the heel and toe of the sole, a third adjustable weight in the sole. Compared to the stock 33- and 34-inch putter heads (360 grams), the 35-inch putter head weighs 370, the belly putter 380 and the long version 440 grams.

Prices range from £149 for the regular shafts to £179 for belly and long models.
Shapes of the new Ghost Tour series (Corza, MA-81 and FO-72 mallets and DA-12, DA-62, SE-62 blades) have been refined through Tour players engineered with four degrees of loft as advised by putting guru Dave Stockton.

“I encourage all golfers to find a putter with the proper loft and an insert that gets the ball rolling quickly toward the hole,” says Stockton. “The Ghost Tour Series fits the bill and is incredibly easy to aim with the white finish.”

Also new to this year’s line is the incorporation of adjustable sole weights (except Ghost Tour Corza) which allows the golfer to add or remove weight to customise feel.

Each Ghost Tour putter is fitted with adjustable sole weights and a Titallium-alloy ‘pure roll’ insert with 14 polymer filled grooves. Price is £129.
