With the ZXi LS Mini, Srixon enters the mini driver chat

The surprise new model from the Japanese brand hit the USGA conforming list a couple of weeks ago.

While Srixon is doubtless one of the most underrated club manufacturers around, having been in the bag of many a tour winner this year already (as well as your new Women's Open champion), they're not a manufacturer you typically associate with taking jumping onto trends willy-nilly.

As it turns out, however, the Japanese brand does know how to have a little fun after all. Popping up as a surprise entrant on the USGA conforming list a couple of weeks ago was a new entry into a rapidly growing new market in equipment: an apparently forthcoming mini driver.

The mini is named the ZXi LS mini, and as the name suggests derives most of its DNA from the low-spin ZXi LS driver. It'll most likely carry the interior i-FLEX face structure and rebound frame technology already featuring in the full-sized driver, both of which work to increase ball speed.

If the 3D renders are accurate, will come in a 13.5 degree loft, slotting firmly in that sweet spot between a driver and a 3-wood that has made it so attractive to better players who want distance while maintaining control.

There does, of course, remain the question as to whether or not the ZXi LS will hit the retail market or not. Srixon has a history of creating pro-only models that never hit store shelves. One of these may be the ZXi LS+ driver—an ultra low-spin driver that also appeared on the conforming list alongside the LS mini.

But with the buzz surrounding mini drivers at the moment after the release of clubs like TaylorMade's R7 Mini and the Callaway Elyte mini, it'll no doubt be tempting for Srixon to get it out there to generate a little buzz.

More will be revealed in time as Srixon's full 2026 line-up is unveiled later in the year.
