Srixon's black chrome ZXi irons might be the sexiest new clubs of 2026

Srixon is ringing in Genesis week with a limited-edition, ultra stealthy Blackout collection.

We've been on record as stating that Srixon make some of the best irons around. The pros use their gear extensively, but you could also perhaps argue that the Japanese brand lacks a little of the deeply-ingrained shelf appeal that companies like Mizuno and Titleist can boast.

It's always fun to see Srixon push the boat out a little as a result, and they've kicked off 2026 with a bang, releasing a murdered-out limited-edition Blackout collection just in time for the Genesis Invitational. Central to the collection is, of course, a selection of the brand's flagship ZXi irons dressed in a distinctive black chrome finish.

“The modern golfer is looking for more than just performance, they want their equipment to reflect their style and individuality too." says Srixon Senior Product Manager Casey Schultz. "With the Black Chrome Irons, we’re delivering on both fronts. Players get the precision and feel trusted on tour, along with a finish that stands out in the bag.”

Srixon have taken the black chrome treatment to both the ZXi5 and ZXi7 irons for the new release, reflecting the irons most commonly seen on tour and associated with truly elite ball striking. The clubs themselves, of course, are exactly the same from a performance perspective, with the same i-Forged construction and cavity back profile delivering tour-level feel, performance and control.

Already examples of the irons have been spotted out on the range at Riviera golf club, with many Srixon staffers expected to rock pieces from the Blackout collection's range of soft goods. The range includes hats, towels, headcovers, and even a selection of plush golf bags, including a special-edition stand bag made in collaboration with Vessel.

The full limited-edition range will hit store shelves on March 3. Keep an eye on developments at Srixon's website.
