Johnson was the best player in the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series, scooping more than $35m in prize money and bonuses.

He struggled in the opening event of the season in Mayakoba, finishing T-35 in the individual element of the Saudi-backed league.

Johnson did scoop $135,000 though, so it's not all bad for the golf power couple.

Despite not performing to his usual lofty standards, his 4 Aces GC side finished second, with each member splitting a further $1.5m.

"I'm going to feel fine"

Johnson will soon be turning his attentions to the 2023 Masters

The 38-year-old American won the 84th Masters in 2020.

A hot topic in recent weeks has been what the atmosphere will be like at the past champions' dinner owing to the bitter rivalry between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, of which Johnson resigned his membership.

One of Johnson's LIV colleagues, Sergio Garcia, was asked about this topic in Tucson.

Garcia said:

"I don't know. You'll have to ask whoever is going to feel awkward. I'm going to feel fine. I don't have any problems with anyone, and I try not to make a big deal out of it.
"I'm going to be there because I earned it, because I deserve it, and I'm going to enjoy it. I hope the rest of the guys do the same."
