Cobra adds irons to its AMP Cell range

Metalwood face-weld construction with E9 Face Technology provides explosive distance and pinpoint accuracy

Cobra adds irons to its AMP Cell range

Following the launch of AMP Cell driver, featuring breakthrough MyFly technology, and fairways and hybrids, Cobra Golf has strengthened its lineup for 2013 with the all-new AMP Cell iron.

With a metalwood face-weld construction, AMP Cell technology, V-Skid sole design and our good old friend E9 Face technology, the AMP Cell irons are positioned to deliver explosive distance, maximum forgiveness and pinpoint accuracy.

“Our AMP Cell irons take the best technologies from our research in irons and combine them with metalwood-type construction,” says Cobra’s Vice President of research and development Tom Preece.

“Bringing these technologies together provides golfers with higher, longer, more penetrating ball flight, superb accuracy, optimised CG placement and ultimately, the best in performance.”

Cobra says its AMP Cell 4 to 7-irons feature a metalwood construction with a thin, high strength steel face that is welded to a softer 431 stainless steel body, which helps generate faster ball speeds for improved distance and forgiveness.

The brand’s proprietary E9 Face Technology also fuels the irons with a progressive face and cavity design that optimises the performance of each individual iron and improves distance, feel and forgiveness.

The internal cell weighting, adds Cobra, enables precise CG placement in the irons, moving weight from the face and body to create perimeter weighting which positions the CG behind the Sweet Zone.

Cobra’s V-Skid sole also combines a higher bounce leading edge with heel toe relief, which results in a sole that is versatile for better players, yet forgiving for mid and higher handicappers.

The Cobra AMP Cell irons are available in right and left handed models in both steel (RRP £549) and graphite (£649) in either 4-PW or 5-SW stock sets.

The steel irons feature a True Temper Dynalite 90 shaft and the graphite irons use a Cobra MRC AMP Cell shaft – all of which feature a Lamkin REL 600 grip, designed specially for the AMP Cell irons.

And just like the AMP Cell drivers, fairways and hybrids, the irons come in barbados red, silver, vibrant orange and directoire blue.

All will be available from February 8 2013.
