Piercy and Wiesberger seal Titleist double

Titleist is celebrating a weekend double after staff players Scott Piercy and Bernd Wiesberger secured their second career victories on the PGA and European Tour.

Piercy clinched the Canadian Open by a shot on 17-under after posting three consecutive rounds of 67 on top of his blistering opening 62, while Wiesberger flew home to take his national title by three shots at the Lyoness Open following a scorching final-round 65, highlighted by seven birdies on his last ten holes.

Despite admitting he was forced to play 'boring golf' at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, given the tight, classic layout in Ontario put a premium on accuracy rather than distance, it didn't exactly stop Piercy from ranking inside the top-10 in average driving distance with his Titleist 910D2 at 311 yards.

The 33-year-old from Las Vegas found 62% of the narrow fairways and found just under 70% of the greens in regulation with his Titleist 690MB irons and Titleist Vokey Design SM4 wedges.

He was also on song with his Scott Cameron flatstick, rolling home 20 birdies and two eagles for the week and ranking fourth in strokes gained putting.

After raising aloft the trophy, Piercy was quick to pay tribute to his sponsors for helping him get back in the winner's circle for the first time since his maiden victory at the Reno-Tahoe Open last August.

“I am just so excited right now but I have to say a big thank you to all of my sponsors, including Titleist, for standing behind me,” said Piercy, who earns a spot in this week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and qualifies for all the majors in 2013.

Wiesberger, who achieved a childhood dream by landing his second title in the space of three months with victory on home soil, sported a full bag of Titleist bats including the brand new Titleist 913D3 prototype driver and Titleist 712 CB irons.

The 26-year-old Austrian ranked first in driving distance, once again averaging 311 yards off the tee, and 12th in greens in regulation with an exemplary 76.8%.

Wiesberger also caught fire with his Scotty Cameron Fastback putter, ranking third with 27 putts per round.

Both players strolled home for victory in the comfort of FJ footwear and FJ StaSof glove.
