Poulter riding in style at Goodwood

GOLFmagic once had a traumatising experience on a golf buggy. It involved a very steep hill, icy conditions and gut-wrenching screams.

But the incident at Okehampton Golf Club on Dartmoor hasn’t ended our love affair with the glorified mobility scooters.

And when a modified golf buggy comes along, it makes us all warm and gooey inside. Like the feeling you get when a loved one looks longingly into your eyes. Or when you eat something warm and gooey.

So imagine our delight when pictures began circulating of a buggy kitted out like Batman’s Tumbler.

But it gets better, because Ian Poulter has found himself a buggy modelled on the 1934 Brakenvan.

The world number ten wrote on his Twitter feed: “Playing Goodwood this morning in PGA Pro-Am. Take a look at these buggies they are awesome!”

And he’s right.

40 of the stylish design were created by ModelTec – which also produces Wacky Racer cars for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

If you have any pictures of modified golf buggies, we want to hear from you.
