Phil Mickelson pays random tribute to Tiger Woods
Phil Mickelson paid a heartwarming and very random tribute to his friend and long-time rival Tiger Woods.
Phil Mickelson received almost 10,000 retweets and over 130,000 likes on Twitter after he paid a very random and heartwarming tribute to his close friend and long-time rival, Tiger Woods.
Mickelson and Woods battled it out as the two most exciting players in golf for decades, racking up a combined 126 PGA Tour wins along the way, with the two also tallying 20 major championships.
After winning his first Champions Tour event recently, Mickelson received high praise from Woods who said: "His wedge game is off the charts as we all know and give him a wedge in there and he's going to put it inside of 10/15 feet each and every time.
"There's no reason why he can't win every event he plays out there. He's got such a big advantage over the rest of the field just with sheer length."
The days of seeing Woods and Mickelson play against each other are far from over, yet Mickelson decided to pay tribute to his frenemy on Twitter.
"Dear Tiger, Thank you for all that you’ve done for this great game of golf. No one has benefited more than me and I just wanted you to know I appreciate you and all you’ve done. That’s all. Thank you," read the tweet which you can see below.
