Dustin Johnson starts favourite at Tournament of Champions; Rory McIlroy declines invite

Rory McIlroy may have declined his place at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii next week, but the 2021 opener on the PGA Tour certainly won't lack for strength in depth.

World No.1 Dustin Johnson will tee up in his first competitive event since slipping on the famous Green Jacket at The Masters in November, and he will be joined at the head of the field by the likes of Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.

The tournament is invite only for all winners on the PGA Tour during the 2020 calendar year, along with the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings last year.

McIlroy was eligible to compete but chose to bypass on this occasion along with fellow qualifiers Tyrrell Hatton and Jim Herman.
