Billy Horschel battled his way to the final of the WGC-Dell Match Play Technologies where he then claimed a 2&1 victory over Scottie Scheffler to win his first WGC title and the huge cash prize that comes with it.

It might not have been the thrilling final that we were hoping for and it certainly wasn't helped by the length of time it took to be completed, but Horschel has been in fine form as of late and now his recent hard work has paid off.

WGC events are known for paying big and the Dell Match Play is no different, with a total prize purse of $10.5 million up split between the field.

Horschel took home the winning share of $1,820,000, while Scheffler earned $1,150,000 for reaching the final of the five day tournament.

For the players that didn't make it out of the group stage, they are paid based on how many points they won over the first three days, but even those who didn't win a single point still made some money.
